Stage 1: Ask a Question
Start by typing a question in the chat panel. Be specific about:
- Asset class — residential, commercial, industrial, etc.
- Geography — region, market, or specific location
- Risk type — flood, heat, hurricane, transition, etc.
- Metric — price effect, NOI impact, cap rate delta, etc.
Try questions like these (click to copy):
What's the price effect of flood risk on Miami multifamily properties?
How does extreme heat affect commercial real estate values in Phoenix?
What do academic papers say about hurricane risk and insurance costs?
Stage 2: Agent Searches
The CPI agent searches multiple sources in parallel:
- Research corpus — ~400 peer-reviewed academic papers
- Your documents — any files you've uploaded to your Library
- SEC filings — company disclosures and financial data (when relevant)
You'll see progress indicators as the agent works through each source.
Stage 3: Analysis Generated
The agent responds in chat with a structured analysis containing:
- Direct answer — responds to your specific question
- Quantified ranges — price bands, not vague trends
- Supporting evidence — tables, figures, quotes
- Inline citations — [1], [2], etc. linked to sources
- Bibliography — full references at the bottom
Stage 4: Verify
Click any citation to verify the claim:
- Click a citation number (e.g., [1]) in the response
- The source PDF opens in the Reader tab
- Read the original context
- Confirm the finding matches what the agent reported
If you need more detail, ask follow-up questions. The agent maintains context.
Stage 5: Export
Once you're satisfied with the analysis:
- Copy the chat response
- Paste into your memo, deck, or report
- Citations and formatting are preserved
Responses are designed to be decision-ready — you can paste them directly into IC materials without reformatting.
